What We Do
BTV is a group dedicated to enabling investors to be user-owners on the strongest platforms on the decentralized web.
Battle Tested Ventures is a crypto-asset network operations firm founded in 2017 and based in Southern California.
Our goal is to help grow blockchain ecosystems by dedicating time, stake, and expertise toward the disruptive platforms reshaping the internet landscape. By operating as a technical steward and active community-member for the blockchain protocols we participate in, we maximize our impact and return for our partner companies and customers.
How We Work
BTV is a multidisciplinary team with the skills and experience to execute on the dual-role of Investor and Network Operator in the Blockchain space. Our unique approach makes it easy for token-holders to maximize their investment with minimum effort.
Our operating team directly engages communities of the distributed applications (dApps) and decentralized protocols in our portfolio.
BTV executes on a 3-prong strategy to align incentives between investors, developers, and the community-driven ecosystem of the project:
- Operate critical network infrastructure with excellence.
- Perform network validation, curation, and governance with insight and integrity.
- Grow investor value as a trusted, reliable partner and delegate.
Battle Tested Ventures has a novel approach to blockchain investments – we believe that superior investor returns result from direct contribution in the products in our portfolio. We operate technical infrastructure to keep distributed systems stable and secure, while contributing as curators and stewards of the community.
Blockchain projects grow because of their communities, and we expect to be leading community members for each protocol initiative we are involved in.
BTV generates superior Internal Rate of Return (IRR) by selecting best-in-class protocols and being powerful early-adopters and community-organizers.
Our Tezos Bakery helps token investors earn baking rewards (in tezzies) by delegating their baking rights to our secure, cloud-based system, designed to validate transactions on behalf of token-holders on the Tezos protocol.
The Blockstack protocol implements a number of Stack rewards incentives for contributors. BTV will support the protocol at launch with App Rewards mining, Web of Trust mining, and Proof of Burn mining to generate Stacks returns for our limited partners.
Grin is based on the MimbleWimble protocol, put forward by an anonymous user by the name of Tom Elvis Jedusor (the French name of fictional Harry Potter character Voldemort). This revolutionary design is the spiritual successor to Bitcoin, if there is one. Scalable, anonymous, with a fair token-distribution model (no pre-sales or founder rewards), Grin’s launch in early 2019 will be historic. BTV will operate mining infrastructure for Grin at launch.
BTV is building a deep understanding of the Filecoin protocol architecture, in order to support, at their 2019 launch, with Proof-of-Capacity mining with storage and retrieval nodes at partner property-owner locations around the United States. Filecoin allows BTV to help offer an alternative to the massive, centrally controlled, nation-state-vulnerable, monopoly tech organizations of the modern internet.
FOAM is an experimental crypto-primitive on Ethereum. As a TCR incenting the curation of a decentralized Point-of-Interest map, FOAM has the opportunity to become a critical component to the location-aware marketplaces of the future.
BTV will operate “hops” in the packet-chain for this decentralized VPN service, affording reliable, anonymous, uninterrupted internet access for consumers around the world. The incentive layer in Orchid allows it to succeed where I2P and Tor failed– getting a high density of nodes operating in close proximity to users.
